The strikes occurred overnight in the cities of Aleppo, Hama and Tartus.\r\n<\/p>

\r\nThe Russian news agency Sputnik reported that airstrikes in Aleppo and Hama caused an earthquake in Syria early Monday.\r\n<\/p>

\r\nIn Tartus, in the west of the country, strikes hit weapons depots, causing tremors measuring 3.0 on the Richter scale, according to the Hezbollah-affiliated Al Mayadeen network, as the depots caught fire.\r\n<\/p>

\r\nHebrew-language media attributed a tremor felt off the Syrian coast last night to heavy Israeli airstrikes in the Tartus area.\r\n<\/p>

\r\nThe Israel Geographical Survey’s Seismology Department recorded a magnitude 3.1 tremor at 11:49 p.m., with the epicenter about 17 miles (28 kilometers) offshore from the city of Banias.\r\n<\/p>

\r\nThe earthquake was 20 miles (32 kilometers) deep, but there is no confirmation that it was caused by the explosions from the strikes.\r\n<\/p>
