\r\n\tThe Israeli army announced that it has begun the first stages of a major offensive in the Gaza Strip, called “Gideon’s Chariots<\/strong><\/p>

\r\n“Over the past 24 hours, the army has conducted extensive strikes and deployed troops to occupy key areas in Gaza.<\/p>

\r\nThis is the initial phase of Operation Gideon’s Chariots, which seeks to expand the campaign in Gaza to achieve the objectives of the war, such as freeing hostages and defeating Hamas,” the army said in a statement.\r\n<\/p>

\r\nThe army also said that troops from the Southern Command will continue to operate to protect Israeli citizens and achieve the goals of the conflict.\r\n<\/p>

\r\nAccording to Israeli officials, the Gideon’s Chariots offensive involves the army taking control of Gaza and holding the territory, displacing the Palestinian civilian population to the southern part of the Strip, attacking Hamas and preventing the terrorist group from controlling the distribution of humanitarian aid.
