\r\n\tAn agreement between Israel and Syria, brokered by the United States, was announced by the Syrian Center for Human Rights<\/strong><\/p>

The document includes measures to protect the Sweida region, where the Druze population has suffered attacks from the Syrian government.\r\n<\/p>

What does the agreement say?<\/b>\r\n<\/p>

\r\n1. Withdrawal of Armed Forces: All local tribal forces and Syrian government troops must leave Druze villages.<\/p>

\r\nDruze units will conduct inspections to ensure this happens.\r\n<\/p>

\r\n2. US Control: The Sweida region will be overseen by the United States, which will ensure compliance with the agreement.\r\n<\/p>

\r\n3. Local Councils: Councils of Sweida residents will be created to manage the region’s essential resources and services.\r\n<\/p>

\r\n4. Monitoring Committee: A group will be formed to monitor the agreement and report any noncompliance to US authorities.\r\n<\/p>

\r\n5. Disarmament at the borders: The cities of Quneitra and Daraa, near the border with Israel, will be disarmed.<\/p>

\r\nOnly light weapons will be permitted, controlled by security committees formed by residents.\r\n<\/p>

\r\n6. Restrictions and access: Organizations linked to the Syrian government are prohibited from entering Sweida, but the UN will have access to the region.<\/p>
