\r\n\tThe United States began a new round of airstrikes against targets in Iran<\/strong>\r\n<\/p>

\r\nThe American Armed Forces Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that it carried out ‘self-defense strikes? against several Iranian targets, on orders from President Donald Trump.\r\n<\/p>

\r\nDefense Secretary Pete Hegseth reinforced the message in recent statements. He stated that the night’s attacks would be ‘strong and clear? and that, if necessary, they would continue the following night with the same intensity. Hegseth highlighted that CENTCOM is following the president’s directives to respond firmly to Iranian aggression.\r\n<\/p>

\r\nThese new attacks occur in a context of heightened tension. American actions target targets such as surveillance systems, communications, air defenses and other military installations. According to US officials, the strikes are proportionate and necessary to protect American troops from continued threats from Iran, including after incidents such as the downing of a helicopter.\r\n<\/p>
